Guatemalan Fair Trade Artisan Tour
January 18-27, 2017

$1950 + airfare

This intimate 10-day tour is limited to ten participants.

Included: all meals, ground transportation, hotels (double occupancy) and admission fees.
Not included: round trip airfare, personal expenses (shopping purchases, snacks and alcoholic beverages)
*Price is based on double hotel accommodations. Single occupancy available for an additional $325.

Afternoon – visit Museo Ixchel, museum of indigenous Mayan textiles
Tour Historic Center of Guatemala City
Dinner Los Cebollines Plaza España
Sleep – Ciudad Vieja, Guatemala City

Thursday, Jan 19 - Rabinal
Morning – drive east then west all to get north to Rabinal, Baja Verapaz
Lunch Pollo Campero, Salama
Afternoon – visit Flor de Algodón, foot loom weavers in Chuaperol, a village outside Rabinalvisit
Sleep – Posada San Pablo, Rabinal

Friday, Jan 20 - Rabinal
Morning – MH group in San Rafael, backstrap weavers and natural dyers
Afternoon – drive back to Guatemala City
Visit Mayan Hands main office as we enter the city, meet Julio Cardona, Head Honcho
Sleep Ciudad Vieja

Saturday, Jan 21 - Tecpan, Iximché, Panajachel
Breakfast 7:00 am, Ciudad Vieja
Morning – visit Las Ruinas de Iximché, Mayan site dating early 1500s, with presentation on Mayan cosmology and an explanation of the Mayan calendar and your own Nahual.
