Description
Marilyn Anderson designed and sells Maya Arts and Crafts of Guatemala, an English/Spanish language coloring book as an educational effort for children to learn about the rich art and crafts traditions of Guatemala. The 30-page bilingual coloring book presents traditional artists in pictures and words. They are priced at $5.95. She also produced two teacher's and parent's guides for use with the coloring book "Kids and Fair Trade" and "Learning from the Maya About Diversity, Culture, and Ecology". Both can be downloaded free of charge from the website link below. Producer Profile Marlyn Anderson is an artist-photographer-author and educator.Though the Pro Arte Maya Education Project for children in Guatemala, a Maya/Spanish version of the Maya Arts and Crafts of Guatemala coloring books are distributed. This is done though a collaborative effort between Anderson with the Jun Ajpu Ixb'alamke Council of Maya schools and the Institute of Language and Education (University Rafael Landívar). The project's goal is to affirm and celebrate the cultural importance of Maya arts and crafts and to help children increase their consciousness and knowledge of them. As a member of the Fair Trade Federation, in the North America and elsewhere, Anderson seeks through her art and publications to educate the public about Fair Trade about the cultural dimension of fair traded Maya arts and crafts. //www.proartemaya.org/teachers-and-parents-guides/
